Paper Garden is the latest fabric line by Australian designer Rosalie Dekker.
Once again, the beautiful blend of cotton and linen (85% cotton, 15% linen) is used to showcase Rosalie’s Designs.
Subtle shades of pink, green, blue and grey mix harmoniously in this delightful collection.
The showcase of the line is a large, vibrant bouquet of roses and other botanicals on a backdrop of graphic, spiral designs. Complementing the main print are various designs from a 1940s floral to a scribble spot and geometric shapes.
The original inspiration for the line came from Rosalie’s favorite scene from the movie “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe”. A beautiful collage of flowers and photos and newspaper clippings are lovingly stuck to the bedroom wall of one of the main characters in a nursing home. In a very poignant scene, these decorations are thoughtlessly torn from the wall, devastating Evelyn (played by Kathy Bates). “I have tried to recreate the soft, vintage, vibe of that collage with this line” says Rosalie.
The designs are particularly beautiful when complemented with carefully selected hanky linens and even crochet trims. Perfect for patchwork, home-wares and clothing, Paper Garden is a fabric line that you will want in your life this season.
